Who I am…
My name is Nate Brought. After 24 years of serving the American People (5 yrs USMC, 16 yrs DHS, 1 year USDA, 2 years NIH), I chose to resign from my dream job at NIH to keep my oath of office, rather than follow illegal and unconstitutional orders from the Trump Administration in February of 2025.
I have a theory… that the fascist takeover of America was made possible by our refusal to talk to and deal with each other. Over the last 30 years we’ve set up more and more “right wing” and “left wing” spaces, and we’ve left no room for “working our fucking shit out” spaces. My goal is to talk to anyone willing to have a good faith discussion about anything to find ways to turn this shit show around and get back to the good ol’ US of A, rather than the grab-ass Nazi cosplay we’re dealing with now, or the pseudo-soviet alternative.
I’m a Libertarian Socialist. I think the government and our neighbors should stay the fuck out of our business whenever possible, unless we are directly interfering with someone else’s rights. But when the government does interact with The People it should largely be to our benefit. We have several times the resources we need for the number of people on this planet, and it’s a collective crime against humanity that we haven’t figured out how to ensure every person has food, housing, clean water, clean air, and medical care.
